DAILY POWER HALACHA

Many Yeshiva students spend years in Yeshiva engaged in all sorts of theoretical and philosophical topics and discussions. However, the study of Halacha – Practical Jewish Law, is often sidelined due to it’s often tedious and mundane nature. The purpose of Power Halacha is to offer an exciting, practical, straight to the point, ten minute shiur that will be easily digestible and memorable. Although ten minutes a day doesn’t seem like much, over the span of a year the student will be exposed to tens of hours of halacha and walk away with a tremendous database of practical, every day halacha. Frequent review classes and incentives will be offered to ensure that the material is well understood and absorbed long term.

FUNDAMENTALS OF GEMARA

Many Yeshiva students are exposed to the study of Gemara at a very young age. The challenges of learning and understanding Gemara are many. Written in Aramaic, in short form, without punctuation are just some of the many challenges a student faces in trying to decipher the text. Unfortunately, students are never given the basic fundamental skills that are necessary for success. Fundamentals of Gemara is a shiur that will empower the student with all of the basic skills and fundamentals, both in terms of reading and in thinking that are absolutely critical for their success in this most worthwhile endeavour.

Transformative Tefilla

In Pirkei Avot it teaches that there are three pillars the world stands on: Torah, Avodah, and Gemilas Chasadim. While much focus and effort is expended on the study of Torah and Gemilas Chasadim, Avodah (Prayer) is greatly overlooked. The goal of Transformative Tefilla is to explore the true purpose of Tefilla. Why does Hashem need us to pray? Can we really change G-D’s mind and would we ever want to? Why do we need to pray out of a siddur? If these are questions that bother you then this class is perfect for you. Learn how to transform your understanding of Tefilla and with it yourself!

SHAS INYANIM ON BUSINESS AND FINANCE / GEMARA ANALYSIS

In most Yeshivot, the morning is spent learning Gemara B’Iyun. Usually the Rebbe will spend his efforts exposing his talmidim to a particular perek (chapter) of a mesechta offering the student a very limited exposure to Gemara. Furthermore, in most classes offered on this topic the study remains purely theoretical. However, in our program, the goal of Shas Inyanim on Business and Finance is to expose our talmidim to an array of topics scattered throughout shas. We will handpick our topics based on their practical application to every day business and finance. Our students will be challenged to explore and analyse a topic from its theoretical components down to its practical application, all while under the guidance of a seasoned teacher who has mastered the art of teaching and organising the material in a clear and organised way.

Rapid Bekius

Is it possible to cover vast amounts of Gemara in a relatively short period of time and remember it? Unfortunately in our society today we see two types of learning Jews. The first is able to dedicate many hours to the study of Gemara and is able to understand and review the material many times over. However, most professionals fall in the second category of learning Jews, the Daf Yomi Jew. A Daf Yomi Jew is one that learns a vast amount of material in a short period of time and understands little and almost never remembers what has learned.

Rapid Bekius is a shiur that teaches the strategies and skills necessary to cover vasts amounts of Gemara and remember it in a fraction of the time as the more ‘traditional’ approach taught in most classic Yeshivot. We then take these strategies and implement them in our Gemara learning. Over the year the student will accomplish in only one hour, twice a week what would take the average Yeshiva student hours of study, on a daily basis, every day, to accomplish. Mastering Rapid Bekius will ensure the working professional success in his Gemara learning despite the daily constraints on his time.

Fundamentals Of Judaism

One of the most important aspects of any first year torah program is to empower its student body with a deep and thorough understanding of Jewish Philosophy. What makes our religion any more correct than any of the other world views? How does the Torah work within well known and indisputable science? What is the difference between a Jew and a Non-Jew? What is Moshiach and the World to Come? Fundamentals of Judaism explores all of these topics and more to help empower our students with understanding the Why behind the What.

Chaburah With Professionals

As much inspiration as a talmid can draw from a Rebbe, at the end of the day, it is hard to emulate a Rebbe as a model. The life of a Rabbi and the time that he has to dedicate to his service of G-D can not possibly be a model for the average aspiring professional.

Chaburah with Professionals is an opportunity for our students to meet the role models that they can actually emulate. The student learns quickly that Torah knowledge and a strong commitment to a Torah life is not exclusive to Rabbis. We believe that the time our students are exposed to Professionals that are also talmidei chachamim is priceless. By the end of the year we hope our talmidim will walk away believing that excellence in the study of Torah and adherence to halacha is not only not a contraction to professional success but is seamlessly fused by thousands of career minded Jews around the world!
