Rav Shlomo Chayen was born in the United States in 1984 and made aliyah with his family at age two, settling in Petach Tikva. He studied at Yeshivat Ma'alot in the Hesder track, combining Torah learning with army service. He served from 2004 as a commander in the Paratroopers and went on to establish the Yassar reserve unit. During the 2005 Gaza Disengagement, he founded Am HaNetzach.
After learning at Meretz Kollel from 2007, Rav Shlomo served as COO of Yeshivat Sharei Mevatzeret Tzion and COO of the Torah BeTzion Institute. He earned his Bachelor's in Education at Rehovot College in 2010 and received rabbinical smicha in 2012 from Rabbi Weitzman.
As Educational Director of the Am Yisrael Foundation, Rav Shlomo also serves the greater Tel Aviv community as a halachic guide, as a personal and marriage counselor, and as a spiritual mentor for business owners navigating both their professional decisions and their personal lives.
For the past nine years, Rav Shlomo has been the founder and Educational Director of Torah Tech, shaping its vision and leading its talmidim. He holds a black belt in Krav Maga, volunteers with Hatzalah, and serves as a commander in the Tel Aviv volunteer police and the local kitat konenut (rapid response unit). He lives in Tel Aviv with his wife Chemda, an MD in pharmacology, and their five children: Neriya, Eitan, Talya, Amichai, and Nili.
